WPSC – APSA Congress 2022

International Students Competition

The International Students Competition invites planning students to present their studio project work in WPSC APSA Pre-Congress 2022. The competition aims to encourage students’ planning work to face global transformation. The GPEAN member representative judges will examine entries for their planning concept, originality, innovation, content, and presentation.

The competition theme is “Inclusive and Innovative Spatial Planning” and is divided into five sub-themes:

  1. Climate change and environment
  2. Heritage and conservation
  3. Healthy city
  4. Disaster and resilience
  5. Tourism and urban regeneration

A virtual exhibition of products of the International Student Competition, a WPSC-APSA Pre-Congres program.

The exhibition uses the ArtSteps application. For a better experience to enjoy the exhibition, please use a desktop computer, a good internet facility, turn on the sound, and make the view full screen.

Requirements for the competition:

  • The competition is open to all undergraduate and master programs of planning school students.
  • The entry is a student work project produced from the planning and design studio of the university/planning department’s curriculum.
  • Work project is limited to those produced during the 2020 – 2022 learning period.
  • A team of students represents the university, consisting of up to four students.
  • Each university may submit up to five teams of students.
  • Each group of students may submit only one work.

Entry guidelines:

  • There are three stages of submission:
    1. Submit the project work. Please see below explanation.
    2. Register and pay the competition fee at registration and payment through EasyChair Registration menu. Only Registered and paid by the team’s leader in the EasyChair system that will cover all the member’s registration, the team members do not need to make personal registration in the system.
    3. Download, fill out, and submit the International Student Competition Registration Form attached with payment proof through EasyChair Pre-Congress menu
  • For Project Work submission (1), please start by downloading the Poster Template format, then, put the work follow the Poster Template Format in A1 size for a maximum of 3 sheets for each project. Each poster file should not exceed 10 MB and should be in PDF format.
  • For Team’s Leader and Registration (2), please do through the Easy Chair Registration, follow (2) Registration and Payment Button link at side menu. Be sure you choose the Student Competition option.
  • For Competition Registration, please download and fill out the Students Competition form, and add the payment proof in the form. Follow the (3) Competition Registration Submission button at the side menu.
  • Attach the proof of competition payment on the Registration Form
  • Please send the Project Work through the 1st link (Google Form), and register and send the registration form via the 2nd link (EasyChair), and 
  • Please pay attention to the workflow schedule; see the table below.

Assessment

·     The juries will evaluate the ten finalists’ work and presentation on Monday, August 29th, 2022

·     The juries will determine the three best works as the winners

·     The winners will be announced and awarded at the Congress Event on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022

 

Winners and Prizes:

·     The WPSC APSA 2022 International Student Competition appreciates all the entries by giving a certificate of appreciation to all registered students team.

·   The WPSC APSA 2022 International Student Competition awards and prize the winners: 

    1.      Champion: USD 2,000,-
    2.      Runner Up: USD 1,500,-
    3.      Second Runner Up: USD 1,000,-

·   There is only one team for each position of winners: champion, runner up, second runner up from all sub-themes.

·     The winners will be invited to the plenary and parallel session event (WPSC APSA Congress main event) to receive awards and present their work.

 

Registration Fee

Per team: USD 200,- (registered and paid by the team’s leader in the EasyChair system that will cover all the member’s registration, the team members do not need to make personal registration in the system). 

Benefits:

  • The registration fee covers the online registration fee to WPSC-APSA Congress for up to 4 student members from each group;
  • Certificate of appreciation to all participating students of each group member.

Notes: For offline/on-site attendance at the Bali venue, there will be an additional fee of USD 75 per person (paid at the Venue but you need to inform in the registration form).

* Please note, the nature of the congress will be hybrid with every participant, even those attending in-person, connecting via the internet to joint online sessions, which basically require that everyone brings a laptop or a smartphone, or a pad.
